Beckenham gets a new college!

Pascals College is located in the heart of Beckenham, Kent. An independent College catering for students from 16yrs and above (four students are admitted between the ages of 14 – 15 for full time study i.e. at least 15 hours of study per week).

Staff:

The founder and Principal Mr Audley Sinclair has over fifteen years teaching experience in the independent sector specialising in Computing, Mathematics and Science.

Mr Sinclair identified Beckenham as an ideal location to establish a college because of its transportation links and proximity to Croydon (The base of the home office) therefore overseas students who have been granted leave to remain in the UK for the purpose of study are welcome.

The range of education service provision at Pascals reflects the growing diversity and approaches in teaching and learning styles within education.

Rose Sinclair the design director has recently received an excellence in training award, from the Design and Technology Association (DATA), and uses her expertise, in collaboration with our European industrial partners, to develop and deliver courses in Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) for education and industry.

Victoria Banks the director of theatre arts has a first class degree from Oxford University in English language and literature and a masters degree in theatre production.

Toria, as Victoria prefers to be called, has responsibility for guiding students through the university application process and preparing students for Oxbridge examinations.

Evelet Gayle, the director of vocational studies, has responsibility for Business studies and Economics teaching. Evelet combines years of teaching with experience in business and uses her skills to plan and implement courses that fit within the UK education framework while giving students expert advice.

Students:

Students can attend full time: 15+ hours per week

Part-time: attendance required (less than 15 hours per week)

Part-time study is suitable for students who are educated otherwise than at school and for external candidates and independent learners

Tutorials:

Tutorials are arranged in groups (not exceeding 10) or on a one-to-one basis and home tuition

Courses:

Courses within the UK education framework are offered (Keystage3, GCSE, AS, A2 and Vocational courses)

Courses for Teachers, Design and fashion professionals are also offered at Pascals.

Subjects:

All subjects that are covered within the courses that are part of the UK education framework.

The College’s main focus is the provision of education and training services using technological products.

The college is fully equipped with the latest hardware and software for teaching the entire academic, vocational and professional range of courses.

The college’s aim is to offer courses that “fit” the student. With this in mind students are given focused guidance in choosing a course of study that meets their requirements and are either prerequisites for university entry, hobbies, general interests or required for professional development.
